A {NEW} Therapy

>> Friday, July 30, 2010

It is actually therapeutic to devote a small amount of time to crafting each day. It is just sticking to it that is hard. It completely keeps me from going crazy on the kids, I am not sure how but it does.

Today I pulled out some fabric that I had bought quite a while ago and whipped up a "no-sew" blanket for my Taylor. I have made a few of these and they are great. Very inexpensive and about an hours worth of work (if that).

Of course she loves it already.

For Someone Else...

>> Wednesday, July 28, 2010

Because I am not the only person who makes hair clips it makes me very happy when I am contacted on Etsy. It always makes me feel so good. Someone stopped to visit MY shop and liked what they saw. So much so that they sent me a convo and placed an order.

Anyhoo,

My craftiness today was just that. A little special order for a customer on Etsy.

I really hope she likes them. Although, I made exactly what she asked for so I would be shocked if she didn't.

I appreciate ALL customers, but the ones that return for more give me a little extra smile.

Scraps to Something

>> Tuesday, July 27, 2010

So for quite a while now I have been staring at my box of scrap paper. All my scrapbooking projects have leftovers and I can't ever part with them. I know I am not the only one. With that said though...

I never touch them again!!

I file them in a folder, nicely organized and that is it. I think I could create a serious list of "things" I have SAID I was going to with all of these scraps, but nothing has ever panned out.

But today is a new day.

Six quick "Thank you" cards. I used only leftover scraps of paper from past scrapbook pages and short pieces of ribbon that I was unable to part with.

You just never know when you might need a "Thank you" card.

On A Mission

>> Monday, July 26, 2010

So begins my mission to blog about creativity. I can only hope that one day someone is inspired by my blog.

I have been absolutely (in a very good way) amazed by the creative bloggers out there. It seems as though I opened some sort of secret door and have found an ENDLESS stream of crafty bloggers.

Anyway,

Over the last few days I have been hitting up all stores thrifty with my mom. We have been searching for treasures. And...I feel pretty darn good about some of the things I have found.

I found the lamp in this picture today at the Goodwill store. Although I was not apposed to finding something that needed a little TLC, it just so happens that it is pretty darn cute as is.

It fit perfectly on my sofa table in my hallway. It was just what my table was missing. And....only $10

I highly recommend hitting up local thrift stores to get your creative juices flowing. If it wasn't for the "other" projects I have going right now, I probably could have come home with quite a few things.

>> Thursday, July 15, 2010

OK so most of my time is spent with my kids and I would not change that for the world...

BUT

I have decided I need a space that is ALL my own. A space for things that will hopefully make you OOOH and AWWW for reasons besides the cuteness of my kids...kidding, kidding!!

But really...

I hope you enjoy what's to come!!
